A subadult male grizzly bear was euthanized in Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains.

A subadult male grizzly bear was euthanized in Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains after being linked to an injured cow with wounds consistent with a bear attack. The bear had been frequenting a ranch for about a week, but the Bighorn Mountain Range is not recognized as grizzly bear habitat, and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department does not intend to allow bears to occupy the area. Grizzly bears in the lower 48 states are listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act, and management authority for grizzly bears rests with the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
