The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating 3 million Honda vehicles over unexpected automatic braking, with complaints of the system braking without warning. The investigation, an upgrade from a preliminary evaluation opened in February 2022, covers Honda's top-selling models, the CR-V small SUV and Accord midsize car. The NHTSA has received 1,294 complaints about the problem, along with 47 reports of crashes and 112 reports of injuries.
