Man critically injured in Waipukurau assault by youths, possibly hit with scooter; police investigating.
Man critically injured after assault by youths in Waipukurau, possibly hit with scooter. Police received multiple calls about altercation at Russell and Herbert Streets intersection. Ambulance treated man on scene; he remains in hospital with head injuries. Two youths located, speaking with police, who are also viewing CCTV and speaking to witnesses. Victim expected to be interviewed when able.
