A man, Douglas Heath Swearengin, was arrested on April 13 in Boaz for attempted rape and kidnapping at the Sun Down Apartment Complex. Police responded to an active assault call and detained Swearengin quickly, as the victim fought back and a neighbor called the police. Detectives obtained felony warrants for Swearengin, who is being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
