Intel unveils the world's largest neuromorphic system, "Hala Point," to support research for future brain-inspired AI and address challenges related to AI efficiency and sustainability. The large-scale neuromorphic system, initially deployed at Sandia National Laboratories, utilizes Intel's Loihi 2 processor and is 10 times more neuron-capable and up to 12 times higher in performance compared to Intel's first-generation large-scale research system, Pohoiki Springs.
