24-hour 'Slow Down Day' campaign launched by Gardaí and RSA, targeting safer driving and reducing speed-related collisions in Ireland due to increased deaths on roads.

Gardaí and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) have called for public support of 'Slow Down Day', a 24-hour initiative to promote safer driving behaviour and prevent road traffic collisions. The campaign, starting on April 19, will involve high-visibility speed enforcement activity across Ireland's road network. This year has seen 63 deaths on Irish roads, which is an increase of 14 lives compared to the same period in 2023. The initiative aims to reduce the number of speed-related collisions and keep communities safe.
