BoJ board member Asahi Noguchi indicates slower future rate hikes compared to other major central banks.
Bank of Japan (BoJ) board member Asahi Noguchi said that future rate hikes by the central bank will likely be far slower than those of other major central banks. According to Noguchi, the pace of policy rate adjustment is expected to be slow, as it takes time to reach a situation where prices rise at around 2% as a trend. This follows the BoJ's shift away from focusing on reflating growth with decades of massive monetary stimulus.
