29-year-old Eric Lau charged with 2nd-degree murder in stabbing death of Gertrude Cheong in South Vancouver, B.C.
29-year-old Eric Lau of Burnaby, B.C., has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 49-year-old Gertrude Cheong in South Vancouver. Police responded to reports of screams and a person lying on Rosemont Drive near Fraserview Golf Course early on April 3. Lau, who knew the victim, was arrested the following day. The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the murder charge on April 15.
