Tara Mines in Ireland, owned by Swedish company Boliden, is set to reopen following an agreement reached between the company and trade unions. Production at the mine was halted in July 2021 due to significant financial losses caused by falling global zinc prices. The reopening agreement will see a gradual return to zinc mining at the site, and both Boliden and trade unions have been approached for comment.
