Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will visit Pakistan on April 22, amidst rising tensions in the Middle East, to discuss bilateral relations, security cooperation, a gas pipeline, and a possible free trade agreement with Pakistani leaders. The visit follows Iran's retaliation to an alleged Israeli airstrike on its consulate in Damascus, Syria. Iran will also release stranded Pakistani nationals on a ship seized by Iranian forces due to their brotherly ties.
