On April 15, an inmate at Santa Barbara County's Northern Branch Jail was resuscitated after an apparent opioid overdose. A deputy found the unresponsive inmate, called for medical assistance, and administered CPR and five doses of Naloxone. The inmate regained a pulse and is expected to recover. The Sheriff's office is raising awareness about opioid dangers, offering free Narcan at their substations.
