Apple's iOS 17.5 beta allows developers in the European Union to offer app downloads from their websites, as part of its compliance with the EU's Digital Markets Act. This new feature, which requires user permission and a developer's notarization, is limited to apps with over a million annual first installs in the EU and developers in the Apple Developer Program for at least two years. Apple also charges a €0.5 "Core Technology Fee" for each install over one million.
