América Móvil reports 55% drop in Q1 net profit to 13.49bn MXN due to stronger peso and higher financial costs.

América Móvil, Latin America's largest telecom firm, reported a 55% drop in its first-quarter net profit, falling to 13.49bn Mexican pesos ($790m). The decline is attributed to a stronger peso and higher financial costs, including a foreign exchange loss. Despite the drop, the company added 1.5 million mobile subscribers and 410,000 fixed-line subscriptions.
