Samsung Electronics has announced the development of the industry's first LPDDR5X DRAM, which supports up to 10.7 gigabits-per-second (Gbps) performance. This new LPDDR5X, built using 12-nanometer (nm)-class process technology, offers a 25% increase in performance, a 30% increase in capacity, and a 25% higher power efficiency over the previous generation. Samsung's 10.7Gbps LPDDR5X, expected for mass production in the second half of the year, could expand adoption into various sectors like PCs, accelerators, servers, and automobiles as AI applications surge.
