On April 16th, a suspect's vehicle collided with a police vehicle during a traffic stop near Cochrane, leading to a disabling of the suspect's vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle and a confrontation ensued, resulting in an RCMP officer discharging their service weapon. The suspect sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and no officers or members of the public were injured. ASIRT, an independent police watchdog, has been deployed to carry out an investigation into the incident.
