14-year-old Kiarn Roughley from Manyana, Australia was diagnosed with two aggressive blood cancers, mixed phenotype leukemia. Initially uninterested in school, his cancer diagnosis led him to appreciate the value of medical science, and he has since pursued a career in it. Now a student at the University of Wollongong, Roughley hopes to contribute to the field that saved his life.
