32-year-old Candice Crose died from a medical emergency at Richland County Jail, in Mansfield, Ohio. She had been incarcerated since February 5 and awaiting transfer to the Ohio Reformatory for Women. Corrections and medical staff at the jail attempted life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. An ongoing investigation led by Sheriff J. Steve Sheldon has been initiated.
