Statesville Regional Airport closed temporarily after a Beechcraft Bonanza airplane safely made a "belly landing" on Runway 28 at 12:30 p.m. on April 15. The plane's landing gear failed to deploy, but the pilot managed to land the aircraft on its belly without injuries. The airport reopened at 2:25 p.m. after a brief investigation.
