1st female San Diego County Office of Education superintendent, Gloria E. Ciriza, succeeds retiring Paul Gothold, starting July 1.
Gloria E. Ciriza selected as first female superintendent for San Diego County Office of Education, succeeding retiring Paul Gothold. Ciriza is the current assistant superintendent of student services and programs and has advanced SDCOE's goal to reduce poverty through public education. Her contract will be considered by the county Board of Education on May 8, with an anticipated start date of July 1.
