President Marcos says the Philippines will not turn over former President Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) if it issues an arrest warrant over his deadly drug war. Duterte initiated the anti-drug campaign in 2016, which resulted in thousands of deaths. In 2019, Duterte withdrew the Philippines from the ICC after it began investigating claims of human rights abuses during his drug war. Marcos has stated that the Philippines does not recognize the ICC's jurisdiction.
