Pakistan's Ambassador to the UN, Munir Akram, met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, to discuss Pakistan's role as a significant troop-contributing country in UN peacekeeping efforts. Since the 1960s, Pakistan has deployed over 200,000 troops to 43 UN peacekeeping missions, with 171 personnel lost. Lacroix praised Pakistan's commitment to peacekeeping.
