Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert vetoed a city ordinance that would criminalize parking on residential lawns, but expressed openness to a revised version. The ordinance, passed by the council 4-3, would make it a crime to park operable vehicles on non-paved surfaces outside residences, with some exceptions. Mayor Stothert stated she could support a revised ordinance if exceptions are removed and enforcement clarified.
