The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment's public service cuts have already cost over $6.3m in redundancy payouts for 138 employees. The government's job cuts across 19 departments have resulted in almost 2,000 job losses, with smaller agencies experiencing some of the deepest staff reductions. The Finance Minister has not yet requested an estimated total cost for public service redundancies.
