India imposes port restrictions for exporting essential commodities to the Maldives in 2024-25 due to escalating tensions.
India has imposed port restrictions for exporting essential commodities to the Maldives during the fiscal year 2024-25 due to escalating tensions between the two countries. Essential commodities in the restricted category will be exported only through four designated customs stations: Mundra Sea Port, Gujarat; Tuticorin Sea Port, Tamil Nadu; Nhava Sheva Sea Port (JNPT), Maharashtra; and ICD Tughlakabad, New Delhi. This move is part of a bilateral agreement between the Government of India and the Maldives government.
