High Court challenge against Fingal County Council's plan to permanently pedestrianize New Street in Malahide due to lack of local area plan.
A High Court challenge is underway against Fingal County Council's plan to permanently pedestrianize New Street in Malahide, north Co Dublin. Nicola Byrne, a company director residing in Old Street, Malahide, has filed a legal case claiming the decision to permanently pedestrianize the road is invalid due to a lack of a local area plan for the village. This is her second legal case related to New Street proposals; her previous case in 2021 requested the High Court to quash the council's decision to temporarily pedestrianize the route.
