French President Emmanuel Macron announced that world donors are pledging over €2 billion ($2.1 billion) in aid for war-stricken Sudan after a year of fighting that has pushed the population to the brink of famine. The aid will go towards food, water, medicines, and other urgent needs. The aid conference in Paris also urged Sudan's warring parties to stop rights violations and allow access for humanitarian aid.
