BJP nominates Abhijit Das against TMC's Abhishek Banerjee in Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal. Das, a former South 24 Parganas district president, will challenge Banerjee, a TMC heavyweight and sitting MP. The Left Front has fielded CPI(M) youth leader Pratikur Rahman from the seat. The BJP had earlier announced candidates for 41 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state, except Diamond Harbour.
