Quebec zoo Granby Zoo studied animal behavior during last week's total solar eclipse, with Japanese macaques turning their backs to the sun and red-crowned cranes becoming unusually quiet. However, Himalayan black bears slept through the event. The zoo's research and conservation department collaborated with an astrophysics professor from Université du Québec à Montréal to collect data on how the animals reacted during the rare phenomenon.
