Prof. Craig Simmons, a UNIV of Newcastle academic, has been appointed Chief Scientist for South Australia. Born and raised in the state, Simmons has spent a quarter of a century at Flinders University. In his new role, he will provide independent advice on all matters related to STEM for the government, emphasizing the importance of his work for South Australia, nationally, and internationally.
