Private equity investment in India's real estate dropped by 16% to $3.67bn in FY2023-24 due to lower foreign investor interest, according to Anarock's report, Capital FLUX. Asian investor share in Indian real estate rose from 15% in 2019-2020 to 47% in 2021-2023, with Singapore, Japan, and Hong Kong showing increased interest. Private equity investors have invested $10.7bn in the sector over 99 deals from 2021 to 2023, with transaction volumes increasing by over 25% annually and investment values rising 13.7%. Office and industrial segments dominate investments, followed by emerging markets such as data centres and life sciences.
