A pilot and his dog escaped a crashed plane that sank off the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA after swimming to shore. The single-engine Piper Cherokee Six plane, which took off from unknown origins, crashed into the ocean at around 5:20 p.m. It remains unclear if it was an emergency landing. The pilot and his dog were unharmed after making it to shore.
