Maine approves interstate compact for social worker licensure to streamline cross-state practice.

Maine has joined seven other states in approving an interstate compact for social worker licensure, aiming to streamline the process for social workers to practice across state lines. The initiative is intended to increase mobility, enhance access to professional social work services, and improve continuity of care for clients who relocate. A compact commission will be established once all states join, to govern the compact and ensure coordination between member states.
