101 Freeway closure for weeks in Los Angeles for construction of the world's largest wildlife crossing, Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing, set to be completed in 2025.

Starting this week, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close parts of Los Angeles County's 101 Freeway overnight for several weeks for the construction of the world's largest wildlife crossing, the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing. The bridge, set to be completed in 2025, aims to connect the Santa Monica Mountains with the Simi Hills of the Santa Susana mountain range, benefiting wildlife like coyotes, bobcats, deer, snakes, lizards, toads, ants, and mountain lions. By addressing the issue of restricted movement caused by freeways, the project aims to create a model for urban wildlife conservation.
