Finnish shipping firm Meriaura orders two biofuel-powered cargo vessels from Royal Bodewes, targeting carbon neutrality by 2030s.
Finland's Meriaura has ordered two biofuel-powered, 6750 DWT cargo vessels from Dutch shipyard Royal Bodewes for delivery in 2026. These 105-meter long vessels aim to achieve low emission levels and can operate on biofuel made from recycled raw materials. The company's climate strategy targets carbon neutrality by the 2030s, faster than the International Maritime Organization's target for carbon-neutral shipping by 2050.
