Australian wool production predicted to decline by 1%.

Australian wool production is expected to decline by 1% to 324Mkg greasy in the 2023/24 season, and further by 5.8% to 306Mkg in 2024/25, according to the Australian Wool Production Forecasting Committee. Western Australia is projected to face the largest drop in production, with a decrease of 5Mkg. The number of sheep shorn is expected to be 71.6 million, and the average cut per head is forecast to reduce 2.2% to 4.53 kg greasy due to dry seasonal conditions.
