Aston Martin delays first electric car to 2026, continues petrol production "legally possible".
Aston Martin chairman Lawrence Stroll confirms the luxury carmaker will continue producing petrol cars "for as long as legally possible," delaying its first electric vehicle launch to 2026. Stroll emphasizes customer demand for "sounds and smells" from combustion engines and expects SUVs to transition to full electric before sports cars. Aston Martin will also increase investment in plug-in hybrid vehicles for the mid-2030s, ahead of a combustion-engine ban.
