Ceresco police officer, 54-year-old Ross Bartlett, was killed in a crash during a traffic stop on Highway 77. Bartlett's cruiser was struck from behind by a Ford F150 while he was conducting a traffic stop at around 7:37 p.m. on Friday. The driver of the F150 was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle Bartlett had stopped was not injured. Governor Jim Pillen ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Officer Bartlett.
