40-year-old Billy Wayne Saunders was found unresponsive in a Goldsboro motel room, leading to a death investigation. Police were called for a welfare check by the NC Department of Adult Corrections Probation/Parole. Life-saving measures were attempted, but Saunders was declared dead. The cause of his death remains undetermined. This is the second death investigation in Goldsboro within 24 hours.
