18-year-old arrested, police officer injured in Waikato after officer jumps into runaway car to use taser on fleeing driver. The incident occurred at 9.35pm on Norton Rd, where police stopped a vehicle involved in a previous fleeing driver incident in Rotorua. The officer was forced to get inside the vehicle to prevent being run over or pinned, before using a taser in an attempt to stop the driver, who allegedly hit the officer several times.
