South African singer Tutu Puoane, based in Belgium, released her new album Wrapped in Rhythm Vol 1 featuring the poetry of Lebo Mashile. Born and raised in Mamelodi, a Pretoria township, Puoane received training at Fuba, an alternative academy for artists under apartheid policies. She studied jazz in Europe and now has an international career marked by consistency and mastery.
