Koome has ordered the police to take action, stating that the medics have engaged in the demonstrations without notifying the police, as required by law. The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Union has condemned Koome's statement, arguing it undermines citizens' constitutional rights to assemble, demonstrate, and present petitions.
