Federal government appoints Oba of Benin, Uku Akpolokpolor, Ewuare II, as Chancellor of Nigeria's National Open University (NOUN). Aim is to improve institution's fortunes and achieve core mandate. Appointment made during 13th Convocation/Investiture ceremony in Abuja, Oba also conferred Honoris Causa, Doctor in Public Administration. He calls for increased government funding, NYSC scheme for NOUN graduates, and maintaining high educational standards.
