Egypt imposes emergency alert at Gulf of Aqaba due to potential gas ship leakage. The Egyptian Ministry of Environment has raised the state of preparedness and emergency in anticipation of leaks or pollution from the ship, which rammed into coral reefs near Sharm El-Sheikh during the Muslim Eid Al-Fitr holiday. The ship was later moved to Sharm el-Sheikh port, with sources stating it had suffered an engine malfunction and was empty.
