BJP pledges energy independence for India by 2047 in Lok Sabha manifesto, aiming to reduce petroleum imports through a combination of electric mobility, charging stations, renewable energy production, and energy efficiency measures. Around 85% of India's crude oil needs are currently met through imports. The party also plans to implement PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, enabling homes across India to use electric devices and EV charging through solar energy.
