49-year-old David McLaughlin terrorized an elderly woman neighbor in Blyth, Northumberland, with threats to kill and "slice up," causing her to feel trapped in her own home. McLaughlin targeted the woman for no apparent reason, regularly hurling abuse and threats, and even damaged her grandson's car. Newcastle Crown Court heard McLaughlin had been living in the property for a few months when the abuse began.
