Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma would have been nowhere without the Congress party, claims senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh. Sarma, who joined the BJP, was given "identity and position" during the tenure of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and the party's state unit chief Bhupen Kumar Borah. Ramesh said opportunists leaving the Congress party actually work in its favor, making way for ideologically committed youngsters.
