Maldives President announces departure of second Indian military group on April 9.

Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu announced that the second group of Indian military personnel operating a helicopter in the country had left on April 9, following a bilateral agreement between India and Maldives. The first group of Indian soldiers left the Maldives on March 11, with 26 soldiers being replaced by 26 Indian civilians. Relations between India and the Maldives have been strained since Muizzu came to power, while ties with China have strengthened.
