Indian government aims to produce 170 million tonnes of coal in FY25, a 26% increase from FY24.

The Indian government has set a target of producing 170 million tonnes of coal from captive and commercial coal blocks in the current financial year, FY25. This is a 26% increase from the 147.12 million tonnes produced in FY24. Representatives from 74 coal mines were present at a review meeting discussing the production targets and plans for new mine operationalisation.
