In a Belize court, Marlon Padilla and Guillermo Duarte were sentenced to life imprisonment with parole eligibility after 25 years for the 2016 murder of Edgar Aldana in Selena Village, Cayo District. The two men, who attacked Aldana and a friend with machetes, were found guilty by Justice Francis Cumberbatch in the Belmopan High Court. The murder occurred due to a misunderstanding.
