Paul O'Grady's widower, Andre Portasio, is facing opposition from environmentalists over plans to convert a security office on the late TV star's rural estate in Kent into a three-times larger mansion. Critics argue the proposal does not conserve or enhance the special character and qualities of the Kent Downs area. Surveyor Lavine Lammy recommends the building would be best suited for residential use.
